16-year old boy shot in neck in Chicago suburb

A 16-year old boy was shot in the neck behind a business in Bolingbrook, a suburb of Chicago. He is expected to survive.

A 16-year-old boy was shot in the neck Sunday and taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, police said.

Police on Monday described the victim’s injury as serious but said it did not appear to threaten his life.

No more information about the victim was released.

Police put out a statement Monday saying the teen was shot behind a business in the 100 block of West Boughton Road. He left that area and went to the 100 block of Somerset, where police were called at 5:39 p.m.

Police said they are investigating the shooting but would not release any more information.
