From the article:

Police responded to the scene around 5 a.m., and officers found Taurean T. Jones, 23, Kokomo, lying in a backyard in the 1100 block of East Mulberry Street with a gunshot wound to the head.

Police said Jones was able to provide information to police before being taken to St. Joseph Hospital. He was then flown to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he was undergoing surgery Sunday afternoon, police said.
