13-year-old armed with loaded gun shot to death

A 13-year-old Birmingham, Alabama boy was shot to death Friday night.  According to police:

The boy was armed with a loaded gun and his face was covered with a t-shirt.  He approached a car in the parking lot of an apartment complex and ordered the driver to get out.  In response, the driver pulled out a gun and shot the teen at least one time.  The teen ran 30 feet, collapsed and died.  The teen's gun was cocked and ready to fire.
The incident is still under investigation.

  1. How sad for the lawful concealed carrier. It would be nice to live in a world where people wouldn't try to murder you for you car.

Good thing the concealed carrier had his pistol with him that day.

  2. Are we supposed to feel sorry for the kid? Like Sean says, I feel sorry for the victim to this attempted robbery.

  3. It was a justified shooting. Every life is precious, but clearly the driver was within his rights. It's just a shame that the boy was able to access a gun for this attempt and didn't have the values necessary to avoid it.

  4. Seem's that this should be posted under "Criminal Shooting". Kinda skews the results when this type of occurrence is posted as a child death by firearm. Certainly evokes a different reaction.
