Two 16-year olds injured in separate incidents in Chicago

Two 16-year olds, a boy and a girl, were injured by gunfire over the weekend in Chicago, in separate incidents.  This was part of a bloody weekend in Chicago which left 2 people dead and 17 injured.

The 16-year-old boy was near 83rd and Morgan streets about 6:30 p.m. when shots were fired, police said. The boy was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition, police said. 
Early Sunday, a 16-year-old girl was seriously injured on the Northwest Side when a male opened fire on her and a group of acquaintances as they walked to a parked car in the 2400 block of North Lowell Avenue, police said. 
The girl got into the car when she realized she had been shot about 1:45 a.m., police said. 
The girls’ acquaintances drove her to the 3900 block of West Fullerton Avenue, where they met up with paramedics, who transported her in serious condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.
